An inventory of general repair, operations, and maintenance materials for schools is managed by Material Services. Material Services is also in charge of labor, transportation, equipment loans, and furniture repairs. Any VSB jobsite that falls within the purview of Material Services, Grounds Maintenance, or Maintenance and Construction may be given this role. Moving from one location to another throughout the workday may be necessary for employees. The chosen applicant will have to operate in a team setting with less direct supervision and sustain cooperative working relationships. In order to minimize disruptions to the learning environment, staff members must interact with students, school administrators, and other staff members. Every employee must adhere to WorkSafe B.C.'s regulations in order to work safely. From the site buildings to the walkways, the Grounds Maintenance Department is in charge of constructing and maintaining all school board facilities. This covers all paved areas, athletic fields, playgrounds, fences, lawns and gardens, and subterranean utilities. Snow and heavy rains are examples of seasonal extremes that are included in year-round assistance programs.
